Kicking Off New Workout With Adjusted Diet Plan

by sarasayshi on July 13, 2009

I am really pumped up about my new workout routine. I am going to seriously consider weight training hardcore.

I have been weight training totally wrong! I was doing 50-60 min of cardio and then doing my weight training workouts. Well, apparently to burn more fat at a faster rate, you are suppose to weight train first, then do a cardio workout.

Here is what I plan to do this week:

  • Monday: Legs and shoulders, calves followed by 30 min of cardio
  • Tuesday: 30 min of cardio
  • Wednesday: Back and biceps, abs then 30 min of cardio.
  • Thursday: 30 min of cardio
  • Friday: Chest and triceps, abs then 30 min of cardio.
  • Saturday: Training off
  • Sunday: Training off

I have also bumped up my calories to 2100 for workout days and 1800 for off days.

Let us know how it goes. I think everyone responds differently to different routines. I always found it harder to do weight training first then trudge into to the cardio room!

Another thing to try would be a weight training circuit but adding 5m of cardio in each “orbit”. I’ve had good results with that.

Basically, mixing it up keeps the body guessing! Good luck.

This sounds great. Can’t wait for the results. Never skip meals, and avoid drinking alcohol and eating fried foods. Good luck!

I agree with the post above – I love circuit training. I hope this new plan works for you.
