Day 6: Flat Belly Diet

by sarasayshi on November 14, 2009

I am totally in love with this diet! I do not feel hungry unless I have gone past 4 hours since my previous meal. I do not feel deprived in any way. in fact last night after I ate my dinner, about 1 1/2 hours later I was staring at my son's Halloween candy that was on top of the fridge. I instantly started to talk myself into just having 1-2 Tootsie rolls. Since I still had 1 more meal "snack" left over for the day, I decided to make a whole wheat waffle with dark chocolate and fruit. I popped my waffle in the oven putting the semisweet chocolate chips on it to get them to melt and warm up the waffle. I then placed my unsweetened cherries on top. I ate my waffle and the semisweet chocolate made the waffle taste so sweet and delicious that I totally captured my tootsie roll craving and I didn't even think about trying to sneak into the Halloween candy again. I was totally satisfied and I was a happy camper.

My first week results have been good so far, even though tomorrow will actually be one week on the flat belly diet. I have lost 6 pounds my first week. I was 202 last Saturday and today (Saturday - 1 week later) I weigh 196.8.

I found the eating plan easy to stick with and I just got the Flat Belly Diet! Cookbook that I am dying to read about. I bought my book at Target but I see now that it is actually cheaper to buy at Amazon. I paid about $20 for mine and it normally sells for $30, but target had a 30% off on it. You can buy it on Amazon for about $18.00 and I even see that some used copies are selling for about $13.00.

I was reading some blogs last night and one blog in particular caught my eye. I really think this doctor is dead wrong and opened his mouth before he thought through what he was saying.  He is calling the flat belly diet a scam which it clearly is not. He obviously hasn't read the book cover to cover nor has he even tried following the eating plan himself. I am sorry, but if you are a doctor and you think there is something wrong with eating a diet that is low in sodium, low in fat, low in sugar but high in fiber, whole grains, lean proteins and monounsaturated fatty acids, clearly you have no clue as to what a healthy diet is and you should go back and study nutrition. I do not see why any doctor would frown upon this eating plan. It is a healthy diet that is not too low in calories since you eat about 1,600 calories a day and you eat a ton of fresh fruits, vegetables, healthy oils and lean proteins. Anyhow, if you are interested in reading the blog post from this doctor I am referring to, you can read it here.

I think the best part of that post was reading the comments which are filled with people posting that they have lost weight with this diet and often it was weight they had struggled to lose with other eating plans for years. Many of the comments are very inspiring and just encourages me more to stick with it.
