If some of you have been watching my latest youtube videos, you will have heard that I am starting the Flat Belly Diet written by Liz Vaccariello; Prevention's Editor-in-Chief.

I picked up the Flat Belly Diet! Pocket Guide and it got me really excited! I quickly read the book and thought "Wow! This looks easy! I can do this! I photocopied my shopping list out of the book.
Now the reason why I felt this diet would be easy is because the meals sounded satisfying. Every meal is a balanced meal between a grain, veggies or fruit, a lean protein and a healthy fat (the MUFAs).
Since the meals are well balanced you do not feel as though you are starving. I started the diet 3 days ago (which was Sunday) and even from day 1 I didn't feel starving while on it.
Part of this has to do with the MUFA's that are consumed in every meal. MUFAs are mono-unsaturated fatty acids. There are 5 MUFA groups that you can chose from:
- Oils (sunflower oil, olive oil, canola oil and several others)
- Nuts and Seeds
- Avocados
- Olives
- Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
These MUFAs make you feel satisfied because it makes your meal taste a bit richer and you almost feel "naughty" but its all part of the plan. I was shocked to find out that for breakfast yesterday I was able to eat Kashi cereal with fat-free milk, 1 banana sliced and mixed with the cereal and 1/4 C. of semi-sweet chocolate chips. My breakfast tasted so sweet and I felt unbelievably satisfied for 4 hours!
The Fat Belly Diet has you avoid preservatives, sodium and sugars.
Today I have been taking photos of my meals and I will post them tomorrow to show you.
In just 2 days on the flat belly diet, I have already dropped 2 lbs. I am so excited! I am going to do my best to stick with the 28 days to see how well I do with my weight loss.
If you want to start eating healthy and feel good about the foods you put into your body, check out the Flat Belly Diet.
