My name is Sara and I have been overweight since I was a teen. Throughout my teen years I easily put on 15-20 pounds each year. As a senior in high school, I weighed in at 220 pounds. Over the next 6 years; I married my high school sweetheart, gained 50 more pounds, lost 110 pounds, had a baby and gained back 80 with the pregnancy. Two years after the birth of my son I went through divorce and was left weighing 242 pounds.
In March of 2005 and the beginning stages of my divorce, I realized was not ready to meet men and start dating at the weight that I was. I was up late one night and watched an infomercial for Beachbody's Power 90 with Tony Horton. I took his challenge and completed the 90 day program and lost 25 pounds. I felt better and had to buy smaller clothes. I attempted a 2nd round of Power 90 but only made it to day 45 before getting completely burned out from it. I then decided to join the YMCA and workout on my own and following a strength training regime that my one time personal trainer set me up with. By the summer of 2007 I weighed in at 195 pounds and maintained that weight for 6 months. I continued to workout 3 days a week but I was not watching my food intake.
I entered a one year dental assisting program which had me sitting in class from 8am-5pm. I tried to workout before school started in the morning but eventually I couldn't keep up. In May of 2008 and with my college graduation only a month away, I stepped on the scale to see that I had gained back 20 pounds. I began browsing YouTube videos and saw Adam's (alifelessboring)remarkable results. After watching all of his videos from beginning to end in about a 2 day period, I decided to start vlogging my own weight loss on YouTube.
I am 5'7" and need to lose about 40 pounds.
